Hydraulic Deep Draw Presses: 100–1,000 Ton

Fresan deep draw presses form sheet metal of varying thickness and grade - steel, stainless and alloys - between punch and die under controlled blank holder force. The closed H-frame (straight-side) construction carries the draw force symmetrically through both uprights, which keeps deflection low and blank holder pressure even across large dies. Every press is engineered to order from 100 to 1,000 tons, built to the customer's bed size, daylight and stroke.

Why a closed frame for deep drawing?

In deep drawing, the ram pulls the blank into the die over a long stroke while the cushion holds the sheet under controlled pressure. An open-front (gap frame) press deflects asymmetrically under that combination of forces; a closed H-frame does not. The symmetric load path keeps the ram square to the bolster through the full stroke, which protects die life and part quality on deeper draws, heavier gauge material and larger die sets - the work this press is built for.

Engineered, not adapted

Unlike our C-frame lines, H-frame presses aren't offered in fixed sizes. A 200-ton press built for 24 in. of daylight and a 200-ton press built for 28 in. of daylight are genuinely different machines - the frame, and often the cylinder, are sized differently for each. Every application is different, so we engineer each press around the tonnage, dimensions and cushion requirements of the part and die it will actually run - not adapted from a fixed design. That precision carries into the machine's working life, too: a frame sized to your real loads isn't carrying stress it was never built for. The result is a press sized to your tooling, not the nearest match from a catalog.

What we need to quote your press

An accurate quote starts with your numbers. Add cushion details if your draw needs one.

Frame & cylinder

  • •Tonnage (press capacity)
  • •Stroke
  • •Daylight (open height, ram to bolster)
  • •Bed size (left-to-right x front-to-back)

Die cushion

  • •Cushion tonnage
  • •Cushion stroke

Standard on every build

Control & operation

  • •HMI / PLC control with touchscreen; control platform to customer specification (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff)
  • •Recipe storage for repeat jobs (99 programs)
  • •Tonnage, stroke and speed set from the HMI
  • •Safety light curtains guarding the die area
  • •Safety controller
  • •Pressure relief valve
  • •Anti-tie-down two-hand (palm button) control and foot switch

Hydraulics & construction

  • •Rigid welded steel H-frame (closed frame) for low deflection under heavy loads
  • •Rapid-advance cylinders for short cycle times
  • •Heavy-duty ram guides for stability under heavy loads
  • •Centralized lubrication
  • •TÜV-certified safety valves with spool position monitoring
  • •CE-certified (TÜV)
  • •Filter clogging indicator
